The clients of this West Los Angeles home wanted their backyard to be an oasis they could escape to. However, there were two major design challenges: the space was quite small and flat (40x50') and towering highrises loomed above it. An illusion of space was created with curving walkways, sculpted topography, and a variety of plantings. Other features include: a fish pond near a large outdoor fireplace with a covered natural stone patio. A firepit, built in BBQ, rose and herb gardens, lush plantings, and a wall fountain were all added to create this urban oasis.
